Experience Abu Dhabi

Art, Presidential Palaces and thrills you will remember forever. A culinary scene that blends Emirati authenticity with 21st Century cuisine that will leave you taste buds tantalized. Beaches and views that will wow you like never before (cameras at the ready, at all times! These are Blue Flag awarded beaches!).

Abu Dhabi is truly a chic metropolis that combines stunning historical structures with era-defining modern megastructures. The capital of the United Arab Emirates feels like a Capital should, and then some. It boasts a deep sense of its own history while at the same time, leading the avant garde into futuristic endeavors most countries can only dream of.

This Emirate is incredibly welcoming to tourists from all over the world, giving it a truly cosmopolitan feel with a humility that, in our opinion, sets it apart from its fellow Emirates. Here are some of our must-sees in Abu Dhabi:

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Both a National and religious tourist attraction, the SZGM is a stunning example of Islamic architecture for a center that promotes religious coexistence and peace. It’s a beautiful showcase of Sheikh Zayed’s incredible legacy to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as the United Arab Emirates in general. Prepare to be dazzled by its beauty. This is a great way to start your visit to the Emirati capital city.

Louvre Abu Dhabi Combine one of the world’s most legendary Paris-based museums with the innovative and creative spirit of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and well, magic happens. Designed by global superstar architect, Jean Nouvel, the largest art museum on the Arabian Peninsula more than lives up to its French namesake. Located on Saadiyat Island, the overall effect of its design is meant to represent "rays of sunlight passing through date palm fronds in an oasis" - sounds pretty incredible, right? Check their website to see what’s on - this is a social media content creator’s dream!

The Corniche The breathtaking two kilometer Blue Flag awarded Corniche Beach is located along eight spectacular kilometers of manicured beachfront that make up Abu Dhabi's Corniche Road. It also features children's play areas, separate cycle and pedestrian lanes, cafés, and restaurants. It’s a vibe at any time of day and is one of the best spots to enjoy Abu Dhabi's renowned year-round weather and to get the most amazing views of Emirati sunsets - you can even rent a bicycle, that way you’ll see it all!

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros Studios Abu Dhabi are part of one group that meet any amusement park needs you may have - at shoopit, we LOVE a good amusement park. However, Ferrari World, we particularly love. Yes we are Formula 1 fans - and Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina plays host to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which up until recently was the only F1 race in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia’s F1 race kicked into gear in 2021). FWAB has something for all ages - and for anybody who’s a “petrol head” - you can even get to drive…you guessed it, a Ferrari. Yes, please and thank you!

Azura Panoramic Lounge During the daytime hours, this rooftop is a poolside treat for rest and relaxation on the roof of the five star St Regis Hotel (fancy, we know!). Set over three levels, the top level is known as the Upper Deck. As the sun sets, the venue turns into a Lounge type experience, where you get to take in a view of the Abu Dhabi skyline while listening to mellow jazz and enjoying world class cocktails paired with Arabian and Mediterranean bites to eat. It’s pretty epic. And a great date-night venue.

Pura Eco Retreat Al Jubail Island You’d be forgiven for not thinking “eco” when it comes to the Emirates. But Abu Dhabi is full of surprises. A natural haven with a distinct marine and coastal character, Jubail Island and Pura Eco Retreat are a short drive away from the city center, but you’ll feel like you’re worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the Abu Dhabi metropolis. You’ll discover a side to Abu Dhabi you didn’t even realize existed. Just another of the many facets this incredible destination has to its rich and adventurous character. Stay in a native tipi tent or a modern minimalist dome (for real!). This retreat feels like you’re staying in the hotel equivalent of a hug, a very luxurious hug of course, Emirates style.
